Mission Viejo, CA - In today's results announcement USG's Worldwide Ceilings unit reports net sales of $157 million and operating profit of $12 million in the July-September, third quarter which represent a 3% decline in sales and 20% decline in profit from the third quarter 2002.
The profit decline is primarily due to a 23% profit decline in the domestic USG Interiors unit. Higher energy and steel costs, lower volumes were only slightly offset by higher selling prices.
USG International had break-even results for the quarter.
